Melbourne’s Fan Girl are today coming in full swing with their smashing new single ‘Small Town’, and its accompanying music video featuring the comic genius of none other than Aunty Donna’s Broden Kelly. The ever colourfully chaotic six-piece are also thrilled to announce their debut album ‘Elephant Room’ will be released on Friday 23rd March via Caroline Australia, following which they will be playing two shows in Melbourne and Sydney in support of the release.
Talking about the track, Fan Girl explain “‘Small Town’ was born out of one of the first ideas for the project, and was one of the last songs to be finished. It is our attempt at writing an adventurous pop song, without the tradition pop song structure. Fuelled by late night ramen and regret (like most things), ‘Small Town’ is about deliriously charming yet vacuous people, and a night that goes pear-shaped. It really shouldn’t work, and it probably doesn’t.”

With plenty of charisma and charm to spare and a unique approach to contemporary rock music, Fan Girl are quickly proving themselves to be one of Melbourne’s most fiercely unapologetic and distinctive emerging bands.
Having originally started as a concept in the minds of Melbourne musician Vincent McIntyre and spiritual wunderkind Jack Wood, Fan Girl are now a talented collective of six musicians, including frontman Noah Harris, Dominic Buckham, Luke Thomas, and Krish Soorkia, rounding out the group’s live show.
Within their only year-long career so far, Fan Girl have been killing it on the Melbourne scene, from selling out headline shows at The Gasometer, through to supporting the likes of Ecca Vandal, British India, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Birds Of Tokyo and The Vines.

Recorded at Vince’s home studio, and mixed by the wonderful James Cecil (Architecture in Helsinki/Super Melody), Fan Girl’s debut album is due to be released Friday 23rd March.
