The 1980s are an indie rock band from Melbourne, with a shoegaze twist.
Formed in 2022, the group is made up of locals from Melbourne’s music scene, who have collaborated both together and apart over the last two decades. The band has quickly built a noteworthy catalogue of songs, showcasing their blend of lush, atmospheric soundscapes, driving rhythms and energetic indie rock.
They have just released their debut EP “Welcome to … The 1980s,” recorded at Head Gap studios and available on most streaming services.

Venue Accessibility
The Workers Club (including the band room) is a wheelchair accessible venue. There is a ramped entrance into the front bar from Gertrude St that can be opened with staff assistance.
