The Resignators Spectre Boy single launch
The Resignators are dropping their new single "Spectre Boy" and dragging you all down to The Workers Club in Fitzroy to celebrate properly, because a song this good deserves a room full of sweaty strangers yelling along.
Friday November 27th. Mark it in whatever calendar you actually check, not the one you set up in 2019 and abandoned.
Joining them is Topnovil, hauling their brand of 77 style punk up from Wollongong, all barked vocals and Rancid-worn chord progressions with just enough ska creeping round the edges to remind you where the night's headed. Kicking things off are Banjzig who'll have the room warmed up before the headliners even tune their guitars, which, let's be honest, takes a while when there are seven of you and only one of you owns a working tuner.
"Spectre Boy" is the kind of track that sneaks up on you with a horn line and leaves with your dignity. Expect the usual Resignators formula: upstroke guitars, a rhythm section that refuses to sit still, and lyrics that sound like a pub story until you actually listen to them.
The Workers Club has hosted its fair share of nights that got a bit out of hand. This one's shaping up to be another.
Tickets available soon. Get in early, because Fitzroy venues fill up faster than a share house kitchen sink on a Sunday.
