NO MORE LIP SERVICE is Bom (Paul Bombig)’s second album and will be launched at the very apt venue, The Workers Club, the day after our national election. True story… there will either be tears in beers or red flags waving, comrades.

Bom is no stranger to politics—grab a slice of bread and start spreading some of Bom’s politico burro, as the live set will feature songs like "No War" and "If You Are Reading This, Then I Have Been Killed" (inspired by Palestinian journalist Hossam X). Expect powerful storytelling about our neighboring empire/maybe-still-an-ally, “Lady” (a nod to the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. military-industrial complex), along with blistering rock tracks that have been performed live but never recorded.

An all-round album from an all-round politically charged, ethically modern singer-songwriter from the world’s most liveable city, Melbourne. Phew. Not for the faint-hearted!

Supporting is Melbourne’s newest hard rock band, The Calabrians, eager to make their mark. Co-founder Pip Pupillo has spent the last 35+ years fronting veteran alt-country/rock band The T-Bones.

Opening the night is charismatic, storytelling singer-songwriter David Juriansz (Port Fairy Festival songwriting award winner), performing new songs alongside classics from his previous four albums. You may have caught him recently at the Castlemaine Festival.

Oh yeah—Bom is recording the gig live, so a live version of the album will be available.

Don’t forget, Young Anakin… May the Fourth be with you!
