Kaurna-based country folk singer/songwriter Ned Baulderstone is gliding through Victoria this April, bringing his band and their captivating live show to The Workers Club in Fitzroy on Thursday, April 10th.
Involved in songwriting and the arts from a young age, Ned’s musical journey so far has taken him across Australia and international waters with a variety of shows. He’s provided his impressive range to standout tribute shows at the Adelaide Fringe, toured Australia and Europe with psych-rock band Druid Fluids, and released a well-received debut EP with his own rock band, Pink Duke.
Now, Ned has stepped into the next era of his brightening career, unveiling a collection of acoustic songs written over the past decade. Recorded at Milestone Studios, tucked away on Peramangk country in the Adelaide Hills with some of South Australia’s finest musicians.
Taking inspiration from his Australian influences like Paul Kelly, Josh Pyke, Watty Thompson and Gareth Liddiard, as well as classic folk singers like Neil Young and Bob Dylan, Ned’s songs are thematically rich and emotionally engaging, guiding the listener through topics including love, loss, respecting the land and the things that you own.
Donning his acoustic guitar and trusty harmonica, Ned will be joined onstage by a first-rate rhythm section. With support from Jack Spencer and Racoo, guests can anticipate an intimate evening of country, folk, and rock songs headed by one of Adelaide’s fastest up and comers.
