New Zealand pop rock band THE AFTER have been busy in the studio working on new material, with their next single MESMERISED to be released 08/08, prior to the band’s return to Asia.

THE AFTER are embarking on their 2024 Asia Pacific Tour in August and September, with tour dates in Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

The band has undergone a line up change, with guitarist Ruby Fraser now fronting the band on lead vocals as well as guitar duties. Ruby is a dynamic performer and an extraordinary musician.

THE AFTER 2024 Line Up
Ruby Fraser – Lead Vocals and Guitar
Andrew Featherstone – Bass
Bruce Madden – Hammond Organ
Gareth Scott – Drums
Tane Butler – Guitar

MESMERISED was written by Andrew Featherstone and produced by Andrew Featherstone and Steve James. Recorded at Gareth’s Gazmania Studios with post-production and additional tracks at Andrew’s The Manor; both in Auckland’s west coast Waitakere Ranges. Further tracking was completed in Brisbane, Australia with Steve James at Red Engine Studios. Mixed by (as with THE AFTER’s previous 3 single releases) Grammy nominated, ARIA winning UK producer Steve James (Monty Python, Sex Pistols, The Rutles, Paul Young, The Screaming Jets and many more) at Red Engine Studios, Brisbane. Mastered by Leon Zervos at Studios 301, Sydney (AC/DC, Muse, Santana, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Rhianna, Pink, INXS, Crowded House, Maroon 5, Alanis Morrissette, Duran Duran, Christine Aguilera, Fall Out Boy, most major Australian artists and many more). THE AFTER’s music is released globally through Universal Music Group and is available on all digital platforms.

The 2024 Asia Pacific Tour will start in Manila, Philippines in August, with a series of shows in the National Capital Region and surrounding areas. Last year’s APAC tour included a short visit to Japan, with 3 shows in 3 days in Tokyo. An action-packed 3 days, with the band also filming daytime and late night around the shows to make the music video for their previous single, ‘Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way’, shot in 5 countries during the 2023 APAC Tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoy0_Bv6ocg

The single, along with a live performance video of Filipino band DILAW’s hit song UHAW, went on to reach one million (500k each) combined platform views.

This year’s Japan leg of the tour will expand further with 7 shows in Japan from Tokyo to Osaka. The band are returning to Singapore and are also adding two shows in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Following the Asia shows, THE AFTER will make their Australian debut with shows in Melbourne and Brisbane, before returning to NZ to perform two shows in Auckland and Wellington.
